CONNECT CLAUDE

Talk to your money in Claude.

Connect Pearl to Claude and ask real questions about your own finances — net worth, spending, budgets, goals — answered from your actual numbers, not guesses.

It's read-mostly, and every request is locked to your account only. Pearl can never move money.

BEFORE YOU CONNECT

What you need first

Three things, then you're two minutes from connected.

A Pearl account

Sign up in the Pearl app or on the website. You'll sign into Claude with the same phone number.

An active subscription

The connector is for Pearl subscribers. Free or expired accounts get a friendly "subscribe first" message instead of data.

At least one linked bank

Every answer reads your real accounts, so you need one connected through Plaid. No bank linked = nothing to answer from.

A Claude account

Any plan works — free included — on web, desktop, and mobile. Free plans are limited to one custom connector, so Pearl may need to be it.

SETUP

Set up in ~2 minutes

Once Pearl is live in the Claude connector directory you'll just search for it. Until then, add it as a custom connector:

Connector URL

1

Open connector settings

In claude.ai, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.

2

Paste the server URL

Use the Pearl connector URL below. Leave Client ID and Secret blank — Claude registers itself.

3

Sign in with your phone

A window opens the Pearl sign-in page. Enter your Pearl phone number, then the code we text you (OTP).

4

Review and approve

Read the consent screen showing what Claude can access, then tap Approve. That's it — start asking.

Claude Desktop and Claude Code work the same way

Claude Desktop uses the same Settings → Connectors flow. Connectors added on the web also show up in the mobile apps.

In Claude Code, add it from the terminal:

Then run /mcp to sign in with the same phone-number flow.

TRY THESE

Try these prompts

Copy any of these into Claude once you're connected.

What's my net worth right now?

Where did my money go last month?

Can I afford a $2,000 trip in October?

How long until my emergency fund hits $10,000 at my current pace?

Which subscriptions am I paying for that I might have forgotten about?

If I put an extra $500 a month toward my credit card, when is it paid off?

Set my dining-out budget to $300 a month.

Asks first

Recategorize my Amazon charges from last week as Shopping.

Asks first

Prompts marked "asks first" make a change, so Claude will ask you to approve it before anything is saved.

YOUR DATA

Your data, your rules

Plain-English on what happens when you connect.

Scoped to you, always

Every request is locked server-side to your own account. There's no way — in the tools or the code — to ask about anyone else's money.

Pearl never moves money

No transfers, no trades, no payments, no opening or closing accounts. That capability doesn't exist in the connector. It's also a hard rule of the Claude directory, and we comply.

What goes to Claude

When you ask a question, the numbers needed to answer it flow to Anthropic to generate the reply, under Anthropic's terms. See Anthropic's privacy policy for how they handle it.

What Pearl stores

Your accounts stay connected read-only through Plaid, and Pearl keeps a log of every tool call (which tool, when, how long) — that's also how we enforce fair-use limits. Full details are in our privacy policy.

Pearl privacy policy →

Deletes are reversible

Canceling a goal is a soft-cancel, not a wipe. The only thing the connector can truly delete is a recurring bill you added yourself.

Fair-use limits

There's a rate limit (about 60 tool calls every 5 minutes) so nothing runs away. One question usually uses a handful of calls.

DISCONNECT

Disconnect any time

Two ways to cut Claude off. Either one is instant.

Remove the connector in Claude

In claude.ai, go to Settings → Connectors → Pearl → Remove. Claude immediately stops being able to see your data.

Revoke access from Pearl

Disconnect a bank (Account menu → My accounts → Disconnect) or delete your Pearl account, and the connector loses its data source right away.

Tokens expire on their own

Your sign-in token has a limited life and can be revoked. Reconnecting just re-runs the quick phone sign-in.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If something's not working

"Subscription required"
Your Pearl subscription isn't active. Subscribe in the Pearl app or through onboarding, then reconnect.
"Connect a bank first" / empty answers
You have no bank linked yet. Link one through Plaid in the Pearl app, wait for the first sync, then ask again.
The text code (OTP) never arrives
Double-check the phone number matches your Pearl account, wait a minute, then request a new code. Only existing Pearl accounts can sign in.
The sign-in screen keeps looping
Close the window, clear it, and start the connector flow again from Settings → Connectors. Make sure you're on a paid Claude plan.
Numbers look out of date
Answers are only as fresh as your last bank sync — Claude tells you when the data was last updated. Open the Pearl app to refresh a connection if it looks stale.
"Rate limit reached"
You've asked a lot in a short window. Wait a few minutes, or bundle your questions together, then continue.
